So last night the cat must have hit the ato sense and moved it causing a tone of kalk to be put into the tank. 90% corals are dead...a few fish. ... it's a grave yard of snails on the sand bed... just wonderful

Ohhh no that sucks. Sorry for your loss. When I o.d'd I did a emergency dose of vinegar to get the ph down. Saved my bacon but I caught it quickly after it happened

Ya I'm working on that but not much left to save. I didn't think it would kill the fish but looks like my 5 anthias and blue tang are dead.

Purple tang, clowns,wrasse and gobies seem to be ok

Wouldn't the extra alkalinity and calcium just precipitate out as calcium bicarbonate? Is the the salinity drop and PH rise the reason for the casualties?
Also, I thought the smart ATO automatically shutoff if it took three times longer than the initial fill.

OMG, Derrick.. that is horrible, so sorry for your loss...surprised that the purple made it and the hippo didn't ... curious how did the cat have access to it...

Gosh dangit that sucks! It had something similar happen two nights ago but I caught it in time to rectify the PH and save things.

Cat crawled back behind the sump and knocked the sencer thats on the back of the sump

Wow, I asked because right now I have some extra kitties in the house.... Im waiting for one of the kittens to fall into a sump...
