Just picked up some nitra guard bio cubes been reading nothing but amazing results with these anyone try these yet?.. takes about 3 weeks to start but really excited to see the results no need to fluidize them in a reactor anf apparently are way better than bio pellets.

seems like the same principle as biopellets but they add air....

i dunno if the air feeds the breakdown of N and P or if its just used to agitate the surface of the cubes to keep em clean.

keep us in the loop as to how it works out on your tank!

What is the difference from these to pellets?

I ask because I heard a lot of chatter about companies not happy that bio pellets last so long, and I figured there would be a 'new' product that is used up much quicker (which might account for the air?).  I know I know, I'm so untrusting, but in my experience no company likes a product that (relatively) never wears out :)

Oh I don't doubt it, but as advertised:
Easy & convenient use, no daily feedings or dosings, just add as directed and enjoy 4 to 6 months Nitrate free water

I use the pellets, didn't even top them up for more than a year and had 0 nitrates. Hey, I'm a total believer in pellets, I would welcome something that works even better, but not something that just gets used up quicker, if you see what I mean :)

I -hated- dosing vodka, it just seemed so redneck-y.  I was totally on the fence about pellets, but I can dump a dead hooker in the tank now and not see a spike in nitrate or phosphate so they must be doing something.

My understanding is the hookers died after being electrocuted in Glenn's sump. God have mercy on the man brave enough to reach into that's rat's nest.  Buy some zip ties Glenn!

Is Bill using them in his show tank?

Looks like they still suggest a reactor.

i didnt ask where he had them set up but he says using
PhosBan Reactor 550 with the NitraCubes and added an air pump and line into the Maxi Jet 1200
