I bought a Jeabo DC return Pump from A local reef shop, They had an open box sale, 60 bucks each, So I go get one and the pumps are made by Jeabo but there are no markings on the pump any where, It's 6 speeds and it's got a feed mode, I grab the smallest pump in the box.

Not talking MJ size, it's comparible to the Mag 3 i'm currently using. I figure it's a Jeabo DC 3000, So I replace my Mag 3 with it and Tee my return cause I'm expecting more power out of it, but no not even close at the 6 th speed, I'm thinking now maybe 6 is less and 1 is more, What do you think, Do they make a smaller one?

6 lights on is full blast, 1 light on is the lowest setting,  but if you reduced the output size down at all expect it to really reduce the performance

Another thing, I was told to cut off the pipe at the pump to the size of plastic hose that you're attaching to it, Well I don't do plastic hose, I've got a 1 inch PVC solid pipe for my return, up and over the back. So not sure if you are familiar with the Jeabo outlet at the pump. There are 3 sizes of outlets stacked one on top of the other from 1 inch to 3/4 to 1/2. I didn't cut the 1/2 inch off cause my 1 inch pipe fits down over it and the 3/4 fitting. It's not held on the pump it sits over it snuggly.  I know you're thinking it's gonna pop off but it wont cause the piupe is secured by a Tie down.

If I cut off the 1/2 inch that's flared it would probably increase the out put as well cause the pipe fits over the 3/4 flared section. It fits over cause the pipe has been modified.

ok i think that is your problem, i didnt use any parts at all that came with mine.. the output is male pipe threads, i just bought a female threaded/ slip coupler when i plumbed mine  its all 1.5" but its the dc 12000. so its 1.5" pvc, so it goes to a manifold with 3 outputs total (two 3/4" returns goto the left side and right side of the tank, and one 1/2 line going to my reactor)

As it turns out, It doesn't fit securely over the pump and sprays a bit, It was a great seal over the Mag 3 but now I'll have to secure it to the pump. Thanks Duke Good thing I can turn it down til tomorrow and get the part.

Just an Update on the Jeabo DC pump that I bought, This pump is quiet but with the six speeds I can turn it down to 2 and the tank is dead silent, I mean I can usually hear the water circulating in the tank from my bedroom at night but not now. It holds the pressure and continues to circulate but it's quiet at night, now I'm thinking this might have to be controlled by my Reef Keeper, I give it an 8 out of 10, theres no warranty or it would of gotten a 10.
