Is this aiptasia?

I found this in my bin with live rock. Is it an aiptasia?

That's as far as the ten tiles extend. I'm not sure where it's from. I bought a used tank set up that came with everything.

I've heard that rock nems don't move around much... So that probably isn't it.

I asked the seller and he's insisting it's an aiptasia.

Probably majano.

Is this new live rock, or was it from an established tank.  If it was aiptasia or majano from an established tank, I'd think you'd have more than one.


Does it glow any colour in blue light?

I believe it is majano. It was from an established tank. The rock was covered in aiptasia so I bought new rock. I found that on the side of the bin with the old rock.

Please enjoy the kill . Do it with pleasure. I would take the rock out and pour hot water. The tank is new and if you don't have anything else on that rock, you can do it easy.

Too bad it's a pest. I thought it was kind of neat. That's why I saved it from the bin of curing rock.

I was happy when I discovered my first "coral" on a rock purchased from LFS. I fed it once, before I found out it was Aptaisia
