ouch, thats about as bad as luck as you could have, makes glass tanks seem less and less appealing.. any idea on the reason? too much weight on the glass with the plumbing? or just a bumb tank?

im guessing a bum tank, plumbing is all supported on the wall.

what do you guys suggest i do now?

im considering selling all my sps, i can hold the fish and lps no problem, that way im not in a rush this time around

How tall is the tank? How thick is the glass? I am wondering if it was not built to support the weight without any bracing. Maybe reseal it and look into some euro bracing.

26'' tall, 70'' long, 20'' wide in the middle, 11'' wide before it starts to bow

thats possible i guess, but the top of the glass is beveled?/ finished, and normally if theres supposed to be bracing they wont finish it correct?

I think I know the issue, as this tank is not engineered to manage the weight and force of the water inside.
Who is the manufacturer?

I would bet that it is not even 1/2" thick is it?

Check out these standards, in the reefsavvy FAQ ...http://reefsavvy.com/faq/

There are many variables which must be taken into consideration when building an aquarium: Volume, Length, Width, Glass Bracing, Metal Bracing, Wave Makers, etc… The glass thickness and aquarium heights provided on this page are just a guide and are completely flexible upon our discretion.

Check out these standards, in the reefsavvy FAQ ...http://reefsavvy.com/faq/

What is the cutoff height for 1/2″ glass on our rimless aquariums up to 24″ wide?
1. 20″ high, up to 48″ long.
2. 18″ high, up to 60″ long.
3. 16″ high, up to 72″ long.

What is the cutoff height for 3/4″ glass on our rimless aquariums up to 24″ wide?
1. 24″ high, up to 72″ long.
2. 22″ high, up to 84″ long.
3. 20″ high, up to 96″ long.

yea its 1/2'' but that would explain it, guess its not worth getting resealed unless braces could be made

WTF man!!!! I feel for you. What a crappy situation you are in.

I have a DIY acrylic tank you can have in the mean time. It is nothing fancy at all. Scratched all over but holds water just as an absolute last resort temp setup. It is only 4ft long though by 22" if memory serves me right and 12 to 14" high or so. It is drilled at the bottom though so not sure if it would even work for you... Just throwing it out there.

I don't have enough room in my frag tank otherwise I would help you out.

If u have the box can u contact the manufacturer? I would think they could or should do something for u considering this was the first time water was in it and it wasn't for long I guess :(

I'd be interested too.  I looked at your original pics and did think "wow, no bracing".  But I thought because of the curved glass it was stronger because it only had two seams instead of 4 (less spots to fail).  I thought it was just a better design, I guess not.

Whoever sold it should do something for you, I mean yes you drilled it, but holy smokes one fill to bust.  The only good part of this was it didn't happen 4 months from now when you finally got it set up.

I'm really going to suggest shallower tanks, and just mount them higher, I know you like the tanks you can dive into, but I think that's possibly your problem, just too much pressure on tall seams.

Don't go plexi, they just scratch too damn easy.

Not fault but responsibility, he made money selling you the tank, that's the way it works.  Just remember that.

find out the name of the manufacturer and post this on RC and AP.  They'll have a field day with it, and you might end up with a new tank delivered to your door (which honestly is what you deserve at this point).
