I GIVE UP !!!

note to self...... dont get anything from Pat or Nick without dipping in everything.

Nick,, you better check your cyphastrea.  If you find them there, look elsewhere.

Good luck Pat.  I know you will get it all worked out.

Ya bit uncalled for nick has nothing to do with .. Thanks tho ....

I don't want to point fingers but I'm  pretty positive  that's why someone shut down their frag tank and sold it all off ...

sorry pat.. forgot to insert my smiley faces.
wasnt trying to be mean.  I feel for you.  Wouldnt wish it on anyone.

also, not saying you got them from Nick.  Just reminding him to check the cyphastrea he got from you.  as a precaution.

I GIVE UP !!!

I'm pulling and dipping some things tonight just to be sure. Haven't noticed anything eating or irritating anything.

I GIVE UP !!!

Well here's the thing I've had most of my sps for 8+ months in my frag tank . Set up display in October added all sps I had in December. Just recently picked up new bigger colonies and some frags and then started noticing this the past month. Could only have come from one place ...

If you figure thats where they may have come from, i will be checking too.  I got a bunch of stuff through the grapevine.

A good idea for sure, doesn't harm looking/dipping a few things.

I believe one of the problems with these bastards is that a single dip won't kill the eggs.  You may kill the adults, but then the eggs still hatch in your display and you've still got problems.

Jroovers is right, All my coral are coming out of the display and being treated for atleast 6 weeks until. Dipping them few times a week then placed back into my frag tank. The DT will just have the fish in it until I see I've eradicated them ALL.

It seems inevitable that someone who trades frags will encounter AEFW eventually.

I found this thread on reefcentral about lots of guys having successful reefs along with AEFW, as well as ways to manage them without throwing in the towel. It is interesting, that even "ReefBum" had them and his reef tank was spectacular.

Check it out..
