just finished trying to read the articles, got crossed eyed and decided to print them off..
can't remember who posted the info but a huge kudos to you. my new tank is going to be a tang tank, great info to have on hand..
on a side note, when you finally move the fish from the qt to the dt, do I totally empty the qt tank and start over. that's the only issue that I find confusing

You could keep it running, but you need a way to keep beneficial bacteria so when u do add a new one to qt, it doesnt die from a ammonia and nitrite spike. Most people just keep a couple sponges in their sump so when they need to do a qt they just through the sponge into a hob filter and fill it up with water. Be sure to discard the sponge and dont cross contaminate anything between your qt and DT.

Well after the flame passed everyone in the tank is looking good.

Thanks to Bart for a filter and a bunch of plants, there are now plenty of hides for the fish and they seem a little more relaxed

The filter is an aquaclear 110, I sealed off the hole because the original pump wouldn't seal and just used a mj900 and now I have a mini sump lol
