But this is nothing new. We know they copy anything that they can. Look what they did to the gyre.

Will i be buying a crossflow? Absolutely! Makes no difference to maxspect because i wouldn't pay their ridiculous price even if jebao didn't exist [emoji6]

Everything out there is a patent infringement. They change a few things and call it theirs. There is a patent on wheels and you don't see someone blocking sales because Honda uses wheels on their cars. This is a petty attempt directly to Jebao to interfere with sales only in the US which contains most of Hydor's sales. If they were truly upset, they would go after all companies using a magnetic mount system for a pump. Technically Maxpect is infringing by using a magnetic mount for the gyre

There are most likely thousands of products that could have the Law come down on them, but they don't enforce it because they also realize that competition makes for good Business. Mercedes owns the right to the design on crumpling effect on Cars in accidents to absorb much of the force. They do not enforce it because it is such a safety factor for people. Sometimes companies also just put a statement out that they are upset and that's all it takes and the other company will change it in some way that both are happy. It also looks bad when a Company takes another down and even put them out of Business, people notice and that Company could loose a lot of Business.

That makes sense Mike...Mercedes has some morales, ethics and business savy....I'm not sure we can say the same for the so called "knock off" companies. IMO what they are doing isn't good for anyone...if companies with good ideas can't recover there R&D where will we be then?

Are you guys really happy with either of these products? I have a few of both, the Hydor's last about a year, Jebao less.

Been using nothing but hydor for circ for 4 years still same pumps. Only thing gone wrong was one my covers broke the nub but after an email they sent rush mail new covers for all my pumps free. Have been going strong since. They even sent me a few impellers when I broke one cleaning. Awesome customer service even tho office is now in South America. I love my hydors they are bullet proof compared to others.
