main reason im not ordering any of the new units, the xbox one OR the ps4 is that they are not back compatible...
so what i have to have 2 systems operating? thats friken stupid... making my large collection of 360 games obsolete is just retarded... if i can still say that word
Backwards compatibility is not a feature that is an inherent right with new console owners. It would be nice, but would just cause more issues than it is worth. If anyone remembers the old 60 gig PS3's and the slew of issues they had with playing PS2 games? Trying to run older games on new hardware simply limits the new consoles ability to process new software as it would merely be a "upgraded" hardware that can still run old games but still run new games somehow. It is a logistical mess that isn't that big of a deal.
My Gamecube wasn't backwards compatible with my NES, N64, or SNES etc... Stop your whining. If that is the only reason holding you back then that is pretty weak excuse.
Buying a new next gen console, is to play new games on new hardware, not for playing older games. You can plug your PS3 or xbox 360 back in at any time and run it. It is two cords. One power, one HDMI. Not that big of a deal to have to haul it back out to play the games you own on 360 if you want to play them that badly. And that being said you can just leave it plugged in if you would find yourself playing it that much in the first place. I have no idea how that makes your collection obsolete by any stretch of the imagination. Having two consoles on your tv stand cannot be as horrendous as you make it out to be... By your definition it is also fricken stupid that I cannot play 360 games on my PS3. Such bullshit that I need to have two consoles to be able to play the exclusive titles for each.... ZOMG, my life is over.....

geez calm down bud, simply stating my opinion, owned a xbox 360 for years, not willing to throw it out the window to buy a new system just because its new and has a few things a bit better... maybe in a couple years when there is a decent library of games, but not now....
and i dont have the room or cash to own two systems, and build two collections of games.
and your example 'by your definition blah blah cant play ps3 on xbox 360 blah blah... dumbest example ive ever heard.
wasnt remotely my point or anything closely related to it at all.

Lol, it was meant to be an exaggeration, laced with sarcasm poking fun at you whining that your 360 games won't work on the xbox one.
They are two different systems, merely released by the same company. Technology marches forward and old technology becomes obsolete. It is just the way things go.

exactly, and its not a bad thing, i just wont be in line to buy because its not backwards compatible,
i know they are doing a trade up program, on both ps3 and xbox 360, if you buy a new title for the old systems you can upgrade for like 10$ to the new system title.

Seeee! That is much better than backwards compatibility. You're getting the SAME game that is now been designed to run on the new hardware, giving you a WAAAY better experience.
Can we hug now and make up?

not real big on hugs.. maybe a hand shake and a beer though, lol
