Leafs love getting a lead then blowing it all to hell, not sure why they enjoy that.  However the awesome thing was shutting the fans up.  A game in frenchie-land is almost unwatchable with the sound on when the habs have the lead.  Second worst fans in all of Hockey, without question. 


When the leafs tried to kill Parrot (the T is silent!), I was texting my buddy: "he's just resting, he's pining for the fjords" and he didn't get it at all, which is weird because he's from England...  Get it?  Dead parrot?  Fjords? 

I LOVE games where I couldn't care less about the outcome, and they end up killing each other.  Long live hockey.  :)

Oh ya for sure, he even was beating orr in the fight, Orr fell and kinda hung on and parrot lost his balance and did a face plant.... Looking painful as hell,
But they should prob suspend the ice eh? Teach it a lesson lol

Weird day when  the habs were winning the fights...and the leafs have been recruiting bruisers.

Seriously, the Leafs just can't get anything right.  They seriously did AGAIN sit back on a 4-2 lead and then almost lose it in the last minute.  It's disgusting.  Only leafs fans don'tsee how predictable and pathetic that "team" is, and I don't mean that in a jerk way, I mean it sincerely.  I had to take a HUGE step back to see that they are really one of the worst, ALL AROUND teams in the league, and they're not close to "fixing" what's wrong with them, because they seriously believe they're the best team in the league.  It's really effed up and it's unfortunate.  Of course, the Bell and Rogers ownership is the real nail in the coffin for that team.  I swear to god they run sports teams like tax writeoffs or something....spend $$$$$ on players that can't play.

I'm not bashing the moustache, but yeah, frenchie land only likes frenchie teams/coaches etc, fo fuck em, there's a silent T on every single one of em. Or a weird  apostrophès on things for no reason.  Pàrrôt had a date with the icè last night.  Too bad. 

Oooh, I'm in a hate mood today, better go get a coffêe  :)

............ I just see a lot of smoke that covers up some sort of inner hatred... You should really see a shrink .... All this bottled up , nonsense-able hate is really not healthy... We won...And you still have a problem with it.... , 'almost' and DID are the difference between night and day. I've said it before but I'll say it again, don't worry about my team lol, your not a fan, big whoop, no one cares :)

My resentment comes from 40 years of seeing that team as a "good" team, (oh it's a rebuilding year, oh it's a restructuring year, oh they didn't have [whoever] for half a season, the ice was bad year, they walked under a ladder year), and it pisses me off that they suckered me in for so goddamn long.  Money for tickets, money for crap, time spent, hopes and dreams wasted...for a team that never had any intention of willing the cup, and most years, of making the playoffs. 

So honest and truly, I couldn't care less if they win or lose, I mean almost every year they are at the top of the league until about the all star challenge (hahahah like the blue jays), and then they ALWAYS tank to the bottom like someone flicks a switch and it's a struggle for the last playoff spot. 

40 years as a fan gives you a lot of insight. I didn't drop them because I liked what they were doing and the direction they were going lol. 

I'm a bit mad they continue to sucker in your fellas like you...all wide eyed and impressionable  :poop:

No one is suckering anyone... I choose to be a leafs fan because I like them, I grew up with them and I'm loyal... I watch hockey to watch hockey, not just to see my team win the cup , ( would be nice ) but I'm not switching teams because I feel 'let down' , that just means your expectations where way to damn high to start out with... Starting to sound like a high maintenance woman haha... They didn't take anything from you... Your free to do whatever you want and no one forced you to be a fan...
I don't understand why you even have any resentment at all... You choose to be a leafs fan, that didn't work out for you because they never won the cup :( poor muffin.... So you switched camps ... Just like a host of other ppl... And the bitching from the camp of ex leaf fans is unbelievable... Just unbelievable .... It's actually hilarious how many ppl think they've been wronged ....
Sigh... Stupidity of society nowadays... Oh well rant is over :)

In 20 years you may be signing a totally different tune.  I was a militant leaf defender when I was 20 (and 30!) too.  Problem is, I was too stupid to see the forest for the trees (that's an old timey saying). 

They didn't owe me anything at all until I realized they never, ever never ever want or intend to win the cup.  I hate to break it to you, but that's the idea of the whole game.  If you want to see good hockey go see an old timers league game.  If I'm paying $100 a ticket (for shitty seats) I kind of expect that the team I'm paying for and supporting wants the cup as bad as I do.  Problem is, leaf management/ownership doesn't give a rats ass if they win or not, they just want asses in the seats and $150 jerseys on people's backs. 

I have to say that the blue jays is a totally different scenario.  When they lose, people stop going to games.  Last few games in toronto had like 5 people in the stands,  which has GOTTA hurt the bottom line.  Leafs sell out every game even if they come in last.  It's effed up economics.

Just trying to give you food for thought padawan.  I know that 19 year olds know everything, but in time, you'll realize you don't ;)  Now get offa my lawn!

It is two different scenarios. The leafs play half the games of the Jays in an arena with half the capacity.

Either way hockey in Toronto is way more important hence better attendance, versus baseball.

lol i was 10 years old when this played out,and like others my age we rooted them on for years only to be dissapointed year after year,grumpy? naaaaa  just a die hard detroit fan with realistic hopes and the satisfaction they will kick the leafs ass all season long
