yea for sure, def not the way they are playing now...
but hey, season isnt half over yet... alot can happen...
they could easily get it together and take over first place, or they could bomb and come in last
if this sport was as predictable as some of you Twinkies think, what would be the point in watching it.....
A lot could happen. There have been miracle runs made before, just look at the kings a few years ago, snuck into a playoff spot in the final week, and won the entire dance.
Cinderella stories still can happen, you never know when the puck bounces your way for 16 games. That's all you need.
However, watching sports and predictions are based off countless previous contests. Hence why Sharks are called chokers and leafs are called terrible. It is a reputation you build after years of the same song and dance. There have been little to no improvements within their organization to make a strong playoff run. Who have the leafs acquired that will ultimately change their fate? If you are not improving, you're dying.
Same goes for the sharks, we haven't made any huge changes, and do I expect their playoff run to be much better than last year? Not really. I might hope they make that miracle run, but it is doubtful.... We are playing slightly better as a team, but overall, I don't really believe they have the core to win a game 7 of the stanley cup final to be honest.
As for the leafs, I don't see enough for them to make much more of a showing than last year. will they make the playoffs? Maybe. I'd call it 50/50 at this point. Although they are in the last wildcard spot, it actually takes quite a bit for them to fall out of it. An entire division needs to heat up. Not just one team. As the 9th seed will simply replace the 3rd seed, and the leafs stay put in number 8. The leafs are pretty banged up at center right now, so their team is hurting, but that being said, they need to right their ship quick.
