I have two of them and I have not had a problem but I have them connected to a Digital Aquatics controller not the one that comes with the one your looking at.  I would recommend it Mike

I have always likes the eheim ebo jäger heaters. Never had a problem.

Just make sure they do not get exposed to air while on. They have a built in one time use thermal safety switch. If it trips your buying a new heater element
