Got a little problem

I've been noticing what I think is green hair Algee on some for my rocks and powerheads the only problem is I don't think it's green hair Algee and I can't get rid of the shit!!!!  The best way to describe it would be a mossy covering.  It's been in the certain spots for about a month with no growth.  I run GFO, my bulbs are ATI and they run 8 hours whites and 10 hours blues (total 10 hours and only been running for about 2 months)
I use Elso phosphate kit and I read zero.

I'm just lost at this point

Any help getting ride of this would be great but if not I'll move to my secondary option and cover it all with new corals

If there is no corals or anything you want to keep in your DT I'd just pull them out and throw them in your sump if you have the room for it, Then replace them with a few new piece's of LR or dry rock.
If it's anything like this one Algae I have on some of my rocks you'll never get rid of it, but at the same time it may not do anything but be an eyesore.

i get what u describe i think sometimes..mine goes away on its own or either that my livestock eat it ive never had it last longer then a couple of weeks  its never been a problem for me at all thou

mine lasts longer than a couple weeks and its not as bad as pictures look and most cant see it but when its your own tank you notice everything thats going bad and nothing thats going good lol ive seen my kole tang pick at it but its rare and doesnt do much!  how could I have got this? and you guys think turbos will works? what about lights out for a bit?  also been reading that urchin might work?

i believe I have like 8, but its a 55 gallon.  maybe more are needed???

Hmm, I'm not sure then. I have one in my 29 gallon and the one is probably a bit overkill so I leave lights on a little longer now that algae is under control, but when I did have a lot of algae I cut down on lighting period, and make light on and off more gradual. This is what works for me, but I think what I had was just hair algae.

Maybe consider a few Mexican turbos.

I have seen them at a few LFS in London.

i got the cuc from florida same as duke did  and had 2 mexican snails but they died      ..i have 2 black urchins and a whole bunch of snails  and no green algae but coraline is goin fast on stuff...wont grow on my back glass i guess cuz i have a garbage bag taped to the back

Not sure I wanna try urchins yet :$.  But I just realized I have astraea snail not Mexican turbos lol. That could explain it!!  Now I'll have to find them in Windsor  :/

ya they are little bulldozers... constantly picking up[ my zoa frags... even when i think they are jammed good and tight.... The tuxedo urchin like to pick things up too... same deal... bulldozer.

Mexican Turbos will definitely help. 2 would be sufficient. They will knock over anything unglued. I have turf algae grow on my overflow all the time. I don't mind it. To me, I see it as an Algae Scrubber  ;D

On the rock though, that is a little more noticeable. It used to grow on my powerheads as well. My Turbos would clean them up as well. You can also soak your powerheads in some vinegar and scrub them clean to help clean up the algae a lot quicker.
