Glue and putty

What are some brands you guys use to stick stuff down. I never really asked around to figure out what works well.

I want something that is good. Not something that I have to hold in place for 10 min for it to set.

i use brs gel glue ..but have to hold it for  a few mins or shut powerheads and pump off for 20 mins

Pet smart sells stuff that works, and I just use gel super glue from the dollar store.

i use the dollar store stuff from dollarama , probably have over 200$ worth in my tank by now.

Dollar store gel, "Titan" I think. 10 sec hold in the tank to be sure. I use what ever putty I can find in the lfs if I need to mold a base, normally "Aquastik". Speaking of which, I am out and need to get some.

I have been trying just the eco tech marine glue exclusively for my tank and I find that it doesn't hold a plug very well to the rock. I am going to re-do a lot of it using the putty/glue sandwich combo.

The problem with the putty is the freaking smell and the fact that it makes your hands have a weird coating on it while you are rolling it to mix it together.

I've heard some people wear those plastic gloves ppl wear at restaurants, and mix their epoxy with those.  Not sure what the plastic gloves are called but I'm sure you know what I mean, the kind they have to change all the time whenever they go between touching things like the cash till and food.  Seems like a nice solution, take the gloves off when done, no epoxy on your fingers!  But then, there is still that damn stink....

When I came to bed last Wednesday after gluing in my new corals, apparently I stunk to high heaven.  Girlfriend asked me in the morning who I was hanging out with that smokes... "nobody!  I swear!"

+1 that's what I do when I nail down a permanent position for a coral.

Only women worry about that kind of stuff, men usually don't care about getting there hands dirty.

+1 for the epoxy and superglue gel sandwich.  I use the dollarama super glue gel, and I've found the two little fishes epoxy to be the best.  You can get the cheaper stuff in the states (aquamend or something like that), but I'm never in the states.  Take the epoxy and mash it up, form it into a ball, then put glue on top if it.  Put your coral or frag into it.  Then add the glue to the bottom of the epoxy and spread it around, and place it into your rockwork.  Hold for a minute or two.  Leave the pumps off for a while and you should be good to go. 

Deal with the glue and epoxy on your hands, it works its way off after a while.  :?

When Glen and I spend 50 bucks a week on our manicures together, we are not interested in ruining it the next day with this toxic crap.

Just because MANicure has the word man it doesn't mean it's for men. If I were you I would kept that one quite.

I've used Loctite Super Glue in the past and sorta works, the 2 part putty is a pain to use for sure, I like buying Corals that are mounted to plugs that way you can just jam that sucker in a hole.

There's nothing better then the 1$ glue from dollerama. That lock tite stuff is so expensive like 6$ a tube. I was using it also until Duke let me in in his secret dollar store gel glue.

I seen the Loctite at Dollerama in Brantford I think it was 2 bucks but it was a nice size.
