So I'm thinking about building a 10g frag swap tank for the London Expo  :).

I plan to replicate the Melev's Reef portable frag tank. See below.

Super easy design and size. It should hold about 80-100 (15x23 display area 12-13 frags/row 7-8 rows deep).

If anyone else is interested doing this with me let me know. I can get 4 from a 4x8 3/8 acrylic sheet. I'm going to price out the acrylic tomorrow if stores are open on Saturday. The price should be somewhere around $100-120/tank.

This design could be easily altered so you can plum it right into your system.

People interested.

Yeah rick, I'd def be interested for sure.  I don't think I'll need that much space for this year's swap, but it's good to think of the future.  I was thinking a tank would only really need a pico pump and a heater for ~4 hours of runtime.  ??

I would be interested in one or two even......I want to have an overflow though at the back so I can plumb into a sump as well.....not quite sure if this design will work good that way......what do u think Rick?

yu could just drill some holes at the back and put some threadable  bulkheads    yu can even put plugs in them if yu decide to move around

well the idea behind this tank is having it all in one .. so drilling it and hooking it to a sump would make no sense if its made exactly like above.

If interested, i have mine for sale, same set up only a little larger footprint. I drive past London twice daily. I am sure we can work something out if interested.

Sorry for the hijack on that Rick. Got a little trigger happy on the reply.

Why does it need an overflow?  I might just silicone some glass together or get a shallow plastic tote.

I imagine you want the waters surface pretty smooth and a good light.

I think the overflow is good just to keep the hardware out of the main tank area, you can always have a killswitch to stop the pump for easy viewing :)

Anyone know where to get the glue is strong enough for this?  Rick said DTI did his tank, and it's obviously good stuff... I'll shoot him a pm.

I have a guy that runs a company that does custom plastic fabrication, but I worry getting stuff cut would be a fortune for a small run.
