For those of you who use a float right to your ro ssystem how far is the line traveling ? Or would it be best to look for a 10g container etc .

I use a float right from my r/o I ran 3/8 about 20ft. That same o/o also feeds my mixing station 2 fridges and 2 kit sinks I have a 10 gallon holding inline with my r/o
Guys be warned that this is a bad way to setup an ato. Eventually something will go wrong, and your saltwater tank will become a freshwater tank. Simplest way is to set it up to gravity feed from a container. Mine is setup so the float switch operates a pump that pumps in makeup water to maintain a level, and there is an alarm float that kills the pump if the first float jams up.
That's a good point I will install an alarm on too high level in the sump and run it into a solenoid to shut off the flow of my ro incase the float brakes+1 on both what torx and hvacman said.
You're asking for trouble running an ATO like this. Spend the money and get a proper ato.
