ive always found t5 lamps to hot to chance laying them directly on the tank myself

wow thats insane good thing everyone is ok and house still there. i had a similar incident with an old t8, moisture buildup in the power bar shorted out the t8 causing the wire to melt ever since then i get the fully sealed outdoor use ones just so i dont have to worry.... and i was even running a dehumidifier... at least its replaceable it could have been alot worse
