try heating it up, put the container in a sink with hot water for a while and remix.

I don't know much about the product, but is it supposed to dissolve according to the directions?

Only thing I might suggest is there is to much media for some reason,

its supposed to be salt though? should dissolve unless the water is over saturated but i mean they say 2kg to 5l o water so i did half the recipie as the kit i purchased was a 1kg kit

keep shaking it. thats what i do. the alk is always the hardest to dissolve.

(I say that because the balling salt and alk are different things.  Balling salt is just a special saltwater mix that is low on calcium, alk and trace elements because it's intended for those who use the balling method aka dosers)

people also refer the the 3 part powders as as balling salts, since part a is calcium chloride.

alk additive, i separated the undissolved powder/mush from the water, and the alk paste i was left with easily filled half the original container i bought it in. I started this process on wed mixed up the cal no problem then did the alk and it looked white and dissolved but check about a half hour later there was lots of undissolved material on the bottom. soooo shake shake shake again, continued untill last night checking occasionally and shaking thinking this was just hard to dissolve but now i think its way too hard and if its normal def not worth the money for the fuss. maybe its just a bad batch?

Calcium chloride and Magnesium chloride are hydroscopic so they dissolve crazy crazy well in RO/DI water.
The carbonate mix is not hydroscopic though and generally you use 25% by weight for the same volume of ware.

Personally here is my mix
2kg Calcium in 2.5g water
2kg Magnesium in 2.5g water
1/2 Kg Carbonate in 2.5g water

This technically makes a more diluted mix but I prefer that personally as it increases your ability to tune your dosing and adjust your parameters.

Never boil the water to dissolve more in it. It wont hurt anything but your creating a super saturated solution and there is just no need for it.

you should never stray from the balanced strengths in the mixing instructions, if your diluting just the alk your upsetting the balance of cal/alk/mag
