Ive taken it upon myself to do a little so called "frankenstiening" to some of my encrusting sps like :sunset monti, hologram, pink sanddollar and superman, I had a rose Nem kill off a few of my branching sps :(, few mini colones:(,, but I figured hey why not keep the skellies and figure something out with them, so I figured hey why not take some of the encrusting montis I have and put them on the dead acros, so that's what I did :), now it will just be a matter of time before they work their way up the skeletons to hopefully give an effect that the encrusting montis have started branching ;)

Has anyone else ever done this and had good results?¿, let me know and well either or the deed is done and time will tell, will be taking progression shots of the whole process, first pics tonight :)

I've tried Mystic Sunset Monty to covers old skeleton.
It works, but the process is slow. Would say for 2-3 month it grows on 1" of tree.
Zoas pretty picky - they do not like coral skeletons.

Ice cubes, ice cubes and more ice cubes, oh and some ice cubes, once the foot gets cold enough they tend to puff up and move pretty quick, once he was mad and started moving, bam!!! Into the holding cell he went

Since I am intimately familiar with a few of those, I can say the results will be mixed. The sunset needs to encrust a solid base before it feels solid enough to grow upward, but when it does...

ahhh montis. Gotcha. Only two montis I've ever had that branched were kind of weed-like. A bright red one and a shit brown one. The brown one looked like moose antlers, covered half the tank by the time I shut it down. The sunset monti never ever branched at all.
