I cant seem to find the sweet spot. I have the tunze 9002 skimmer running in chamber 2.

Beyond that question even, how often should I be emptying cup, as I seem to either get a slight green watery cup full in a days time, or nothing at all for weeks on end.

skimmate is dependent on your bioload. If you have a high bioload and feed alot it will be darker, and if you have a light bioload it will be lighter. Also if you have it dialed to a drier foam, you will get a darker skimmate.

You can also try to raise it a bit and see if it makes a difference.

When was the last time it was cleaned? I find that my skimmer works better after I take it apart and clean everything.

I find I have to clean my deltec apf at least one every year.....I find my mixer pump attached to it clogs up...... If you oversize your feed pump then you can increase cleaning intervals by opening the control valve (if installed.....should have one) a little more when noticing a decline in skimmate......but I still find cleaning is unavoidable....
