Huge frag meet coming up in Michigan

Has anyone had experience bringing corals across the border? If so, what are the guidelines/restrictions? Or is it even allowed?

Thanks

As far as I have heard, nothing with a hard skeleton can come over. However, there is a list of coral that you can bring over somewhere that Devin from reef dudes always talks about.

IMO not really worth the hassle.

There are a ton of restrictions and the border guards are not all educated enough on it. You need the scientific name and they have to be on obvious frag plugs, no live rock/rubble at all. A lot of SPS is restricted. You also can only bring enough back for 'personal use', so no large orders that could be mistaken for a store order.

The number 1 rule about crossing with livestock is be prepared to loose it.

I never suggest you do not claim it. If you get pulled in, and they do it a lot for cars, and it is found, you could be charged with smuggling and will loose you passport for life.
