hey guys.
i picked up a 60 cube a couple days ago from side of the road.  i have been cutting out the old silicone cause it was done from the looks of it.  very least, i wouldnt trust it in my house.
what do you guys use to clean the glass prior to re sealing?  i think i have used acetone before but they were all for freshwater tanks.  not sure if i should use it for saltwater.

also,  the tank was previously drilled and covered with a peice of glass.  any suggestions on getting the peice of glass off?  i was thinking guitar string but i dont have one anymore.

Pretty sure you know what you are doing by the sounds of it.

For the panel, I would also suggest hearing it with a blow dryer as the heat will soften the silicone while trying to removing it.
