Buying An Apex Controller

I'm considering purchasing an Apex controller for my 90 G tank. I'm not sure which version I should buy. My setup today is fairly simple, no dosing. I have Jaebo 25's and Maxspect Razor lights, so not sure if they can be controlled by the Apex. I would like to monitor PH, Temp, Salinity and have the option to turn on and off some pumps. Is the Apex Junior my best choice?

Wheres the best place to buy in Canada?

I appreciate any feedback.

if you want to monitor salinity you would want to buy the gold package I think would be the cheapest I just purchase from bill at incredible aquarium picked up on Saturday I got the standard package with the lab grade probs he had the best price and had it there in a week

I would get the regular full apex an forget salinity, unless you are screwing up with your ato salinity doesn't change much, use the salinity cash for a good ato.

I went with the lab grade (link below) and started adding modules as I needed them as i didn't want to dump $1000 on the gold package. I didn't care about the ORP probe and wanted to get the Conductivity instead. So I got the Lab grade package and saved up for the Conductivity probe and module and another EB8 power bar. I like to space it out so every few months get a few other additions for it. I myself would rather break up the cost over time and get what I want in order of what i needed Vs the gold package. To me the ORP and conductivity were low on my list of need to monitor so the gold package was not worth the extra cost up front.

If you don't mind spending the cash you can get the Gold for convenience.

Based on what you have listed:

Your light : IS NOT compatible with apex anymore then turning the light on/off as it has it's own controller built in.

Your jeabo pumps: are fully controllable with the full apex, or junior apex with a WXM module.

Temp: comes with both junior and full blown
Ph: comes with full blown, not included with junior but is compatible with right module.

Salinity: needs an additional module for both other then the gold version.

I am a authorized retailer for apex so let me know if there is anything I can help with/order for you.

I bought an apex light. It doesn't allow me to control pumps but I have 2 mp40s and a gyre so it didn't bug me. I got got a huge discount on it but will need to get another 8 power bar that I'll get from bob.

It's a great controller and not rocket science to hook up and program. The I would recommend the full apex. It only hurts once to buy the best!

Thanks for the info so far.

I Guess what I am struggling with is Jr vs Full. Its about double the cost to go full, so I wonder if I would need the full.

I want to be able to control my 2 Jaebo WP25's, turn off my return pump, monitor Temp right away.

Future needs, PH, ATO upgrade of my current float switch, Auto Feeder maybe, cooler fans if needed.

My lights are Maxspect Razor and no plans to replace anytime soon.

So what do you think, Could I get away with the Jr??

Youight be able too but I think the jr only had four plugs but even if you can from when I did my research on it most wished that they went with the full one

I don't think the Jr is worth it. It only comes with a temp probe and a EB4 power bar. It is a smaller power bar then the EB8 power bar. So really all you are buying is a expensive temp monitor. The lab grade one is all you need.

I believe the Jr is fully expandable to do everything you would need it to do, you would have to purchase the nec modules and accessories which in the end would end up costing more than the full apex.
