Just wondering if anyone knows of where to get a good deal on bulkhead fittings?  I need ~20 1.5".  I got a quote from Plasco in London and now am looking for a better price.  Any suggestions would be great.  Also anybody have long term experience with the ABS bulkheads?

I don't think I want to trust a 400g tank with 16 holes to DIY bulkheads but thanks for the suggestion.

I used the abs ones from TSC been on for a year now, no issues. They are cheep, but only come with 1 rubber gasket for the inside of the tank and the outside uses an abs washer, I cracked a 20g tank. On my 135 I made 1/8" thick rubber to act as a cushion for the abs washer and nut

I have pics on my tank build "our first reef 135g"

I think the self aligning bulkheads are still going to be straight trhough ones... so if you come into the tank at an angle its gotta come out of the back of the bulkhead at the same angle :)

Some one needs to invent the straight attachment on the back and a swivel inside the tnak :)

Your both too late. The google spiders already seen it. And if they have seen it, china has seen it, and since china has seen it, it is already being mass produced. Lol

As to where to find them, would a plumbing wholesaler sell them?

It may also help if we know what price you are looking at beating. Marinedepot has them for $9.49 right now. Plasco does not have their prices listed on their site. Mind you their Self-Aligning Bulkhead Fittings look pretty interesting. You can redirect the output flow from them from within the bulkhead.

That is not a bad price, any idea on if that is PVC or ABS?  Plasco quoted me $25 bulkhead or $500 in just bulkheads.  I am picking up the rest of the pipe and standard fittings from them as they had the best prices I could find on that stuff.

For the swivels you can get the swivel nozzles for spa's and screw them into the bulkheads but they do reduce the flow.  I may use a couple but I am feeding a couple of the 1.5" bulkheads with a 1" line so the pool nozzle will create minimal flow restrictions.
