Not sure but the last to brains I purchased have not done well for me not sure what's up my permits all seem good I run the maxspec led and its not ramped up much its a 60% all other corals are doing well running the new rw4 mini power and good flow and I have the brain sitting on sand bed

Salts a little high, Id go down to 1.026. Whats your nitrates like? Any fish pickin at them? How much flow is the brain getting? Whats the brains doing? Have u tried shading them in a low flow spot to see if it helps?

1.027 seems high. I run around 1.022 sometimes 1.023 depending on my mixing job. LOL
But other might say it is ok.
I have a lobo, that i think is a brain also. It has struggled from day one.
It grows, but very slowly, and colour is pale.

I'll bring salt down I don't see nothing picking at them I moved them around into a shad area and nitrates are 0 as well maybe tank to clean I spot feed every few days

I have a brain that decided he didn't like his skeleton any more, he now lives in a glass dish and surprisingly he is doing fine..go figure

I think sealife posted a coral collection video on Facebook. .. it was amazing to see where they get these corals. Certainly not a reef.... in the mud in murky water.

Yeah it sounds like your water is a little clean. And mike 1.022 .023 is a little low for a reef if thats what ur mixing for, for a fowlr set up thtd work. Maybe thats why ur brain is struggling.

Increase your feedings.

How many fish do you have in there and how often do you feed?

Are you sure the brain isn't getting too much flow or too much light?

I feed 2 _3 times a day
For fish I have a sterry blenny bicolor blenny 4 cleaner shrimp sand sifiting star fish cooper band six line yellow corris wrasse leopard wrasse bangai cardinals two perc clowns and its not getting lots of flow or light I think my problem may be the shrimp

Do you feed your corals specifically?
feeding live phyto, reef roids, etc. makes a big difference for the corals not just feeding the fish. I personally would bring your salt level down a touch as well to no more than 1.026.

make sure those shrimp dont steal the food when spot feeding they are sneaky little buggers i give the shrimp a little first so they stay away use mysis and cyclopeez with reef roids everything stays colourful and puffy

Feed corals directly with reef roids and brine shrimp I think the shrimp are all going to be for sale they won't leave the brains alone ;( not even my orange plate

I've been struggling lately with brains too. I've been feeding mine Lps pellets every other day recently and it seems to be rebounding. I think thes guys need far more food then we typically provide. I feel they look good for a long time then suddenly they show there decline very rapidly. Kinda like clams. They also can look good until all of a sudden they decline as well do to insufficient lighting. Only with brains it's food. Just my two cents

I never feed mine directly either all have grown significantly...one was a frag when I got it.

I do feed reef roids and filter feeder food sometimes and I'm sure they catch fish food too, but no target feeding.
