Tapatalk is so screwed up that I can't even browse forums to start a new thread, so I'll just add a question here... Has anyone ever kept a blue spiney lobster? Thinking of getting one, but some sites says it 's reef safe, others say it isn 't. My only concern is the long tentacle plate i have on order. Anyone know if the plate would be at risk?

With tapatalk, click the top of the screen where it says thefragtank.ca, there is a drop down arrow there...you can browse there at that point. In the mean time, I moved this to a thread.

I thought brandon had one. If not I remember a member used to have one.

They're reef safe if they have the space. But in a tank smaller than 180, I'm pretty sure it'll eat what it can find

Is that what I got a blue spiney? I have only seen him about 3 times, once when I dropped him in, once when I tore down the 90 and once I saw him in the new tank but hiding under a rock. Cool looking but never seen

Brandon's was a purple reef, which sewerat now has.

i had one awhile back but bill at IA got everybody afraid of it so i ended up selling it to a local LFS
and yes,it ate anything it could catch
Funny you mention IA, because that's where I was going to buy one from! Seems to be a 50/50 split, from what I've read, on whether or not it's a safe thing to have in a reef. As cool as they seem, think I'll play it safe and not get one.
