Pretty much all RO/DI is going to get 1-4 ratio. I gallon of RODI to 4 gallons waste. Your water pressure is key to that. When I had lower pressure I was wasting a tons more water. I thought it was good enough, I was wrong.

I will get a booster pump with my new system just to ensure it is performing at peak. However my issue is what size to get. I use about 40-50g per week.

Water saver units can produce 1:2 ratio however they a) cost more and b) technically go through media and ro membranes quicker. It at least in my understanding. If it is a financial concern, then yes you would be going through less water but more replacement media.

20 gal RODI 80 gallons waste/wk
Vs
20 gal RODI 40 gallons waste/wk

Yes it looks bad but the difference is 1 8 minute shower worth of water a week.
