One of my future projects is to install a float in my overflow connected to the Apex, added security as I can use it to control my return pump if the water level rises too much. I do have a full siphon, trickle and emergency, but the extra security would be great.

That's what I was thinking about doing as well. If I run a full syphon and a trickle / emergency, is to have a float in case they clog up. I just have to do some research and figure out how to hook it up to my apex.

Check out my DIY $10 Apex Break Out Box or you can buy one from Apex or vendor. Then you just need a float valve.
