Yeah what I had originally envisioned was the left mound being a longer oblong reef and the right hand one being a smaller roundish island. Gotta figure out how to make it happen . I've got a good base to build on now though, and room on the sand bed where I can move corals to while I work on the structures. Thats one of the tough parts about aquascaping with rocks that already have corals encrusted onto them... how to move things around without crushing anything, and then how to position the rocks so that the corals are face up!

In 6 to 12 months the rock won't be visible from the bushy SPS so the scape looks great to me!

This live rock come from your old tank correct? It look nice and big in your 90g. However in this bigger tank, judging from the pic. It looking like a bunch of rubble rock to the size of the tank. Perhaps some larger size of rock will make this tank looking even better.
I'm just giving you my honest opinion so please don't take it the wrong way

Yes all of the rocks came from my 90 gallon. And lol, yeah they do look small don't they! I used to think some of those pieces were massive before I moved them in here... the scale of this tank really puts them into perspective.

Oh and for anyone curious about the hydro bill (Kevin!) It went up by about 200 bucks this month... [emoji44] [emoji33]

Yeah a big chunk of that bill will be your water usage from filling that beast up lol

Picked up this fella today, hopefully he does well and also puts a dent in my aiptasia population:

I started killing off some of the bigger aips one by one last weekend, experimenting with a 2N lye solution after I read an article about it. It seems to be a highly effective killing method - still no sign of them 5 days later! And the best part is that the lye becomes totally benign after the initial chemical reaction.

Oh is right, in this case i am sticking with t5. it seem to do the job.

i got myself a copper band too, my purple tang don't like it so it doesn't make it. dame purple tang, good luck with yours copper band butterfly, it a beautiful fish.

Thanks man. I am using 200 lbs of CaribSea Seaflor Grade Special, and just under 40 lbs of Crushed Coral that I brought over from my previous tank.

Some parts of the sand bed are currently experiencing diatom and cyano blooms ..... can't wait until it matures!

Well unfortunately the copperband only lasted less than four days :, (. Came home from worked and looked all over the tank for him, and then Beth pointed out that he was stuck to one of the powerheads....

He was picking at the sand over the last few days, and just yesterday started venturing into the rocks, but I could see that he was losing weight. Hoped he would turn around after deciding to explore the rocks but sadly no..
