Basement Bar Build.

So with all the renos being posted I figured I would throw mine into the mix. I build a bar

That tv also serves as my computer monitor for my desktop. Also I ran audio an hdmi through the wall to the hot tub.


I think it turned out good considering I built it with a circular saw. I do not own a table saw or anything lol. My work area was a plastic table on my patio, so weather was a pain especially when it got cold

I drew the whole thing up on sketchup board for board. Made changes along the way but by drawing it up you know what will fit and what won't lol.

Very nice indeed. Always like a nice dark stained wood.
What is the bar top? It almost looks like a stain on bamboo?? Then I'm thinking glass on top ( unless you got real crazy with clear urethane)
Nice work on the shelf placement as well for the liquor bottles. I want to try my hand at a shelf that will throw light up into the bottles

I'm a bit nervous about trying to make my own tank stand and you build this, LOL.

The bar top is actually a copper sheet. The sheet has the pattern on it, assuming they tree chemicals t it or something. The it's edged in oak creating a dam. I then filled it with 2part epoxy to 1/8 in thick.


Smell was gone in a day. The stainin and urethane on the wood stunk more.

The shelves are just glass shelves with a pot light above shining down. Lights them up well enough. I may try to build a lit shelf at some point but no rush.

The glass shelves keep the bar "classy"

Thanks for the info. Looks real nice! BIG fan of the bar top. Nice work. Good to see some projects once in a while that don't hold water. Good for inspiration.

Very nice work! Always nice to see what our members are capable of. I absolutely love it! I remember before we moved to the house we are in, all of my building projects were done with just a skillsaw and two saw horses. Dave would put an 8' x 4' x 3/4" sheet of oak particle core up on the sawhorses in the morning and I would cut everything up during the day ready for him to put up another sheet. The sheets were too heavy for me to lift up by myself so I was limited to one sheet per day during the week. I built all of my wall unit this way. Dave called himself "the mule". Now I have a dedicated 60' x 40' workshop with lots of great tools but no time to be in there.

I did not have any where to store the full sheets. So if I couldn't finish cutting it up during the day then I left it at the store. Bascially pulled one sheet at a time out of the truck onto my table and started cutting. The whole thing is put together with a the Kreg Jig system, No biscuits or other joinery here. I wish I had a shop, or at least a garage
