Bare Vs Substrate

I have three fighting conch that burrow down so you can only see their top part of the shell and eyes. Sand sifting goby is 7" and he stirs up quite a storm where he has been gulping substrate and filtering it. little piles built up all over the place!

Those white Legged snail might be a White Legged Hermit, They don't have much of a Shell and long legs.

I am thinking of getting Red Sea 250 and wondering if I want to bare vs sand. What do you guys do?

Substrate in DT / Barebottom in Fragtank.

If you go substrate make sure you either NEVER clean it or clean it often. Seems like people have problems with the in between.

I always use substrate, have nassarius snails that live in it and keep things tidy, that said I do have a diamond star goby who has become my favorite and he keeps everything clean and tidy on the bottom. He is large now hence the new build for a larger home, interesting fish to watch in action.
