Auto Top Off

OK, confused.
My sump has two levels.
Chamber 1 is water coming in, has skimmer and then overflow to Fuge.
The return pump section is lower than these two.

Which section do I put the sensor for Auto Top Off.

I have mine in the lower section. That way the skimmer section will always be the same level and not through the water depth the skimmer needs off. It stays constant.

Thanks guys, ya after sitting and looking it over.
Makes sense. Return pump section. The other sections are like the Aquarium. They would stay the same.
The return pump section would change level with evaporation.

ATO floats go in the return pump chamber. You can fill it just about anywhere.

Never had a fancy sump so it confused me. LOL. That doesn't take much it seems lately.

Into where the return pumps are if you have an automatic water changer you have to run your autotop off in series with your pumps so it doesn't turn on when your water is being changed
