I hav about a hundred of these things. They jut keep spawning and boy do they pack a sting. I've been sting twice by them on the arm after making contact. It leaves large red raised abrasions on your skin that stay for months. They are bright purple with. A green outside skirt and the bubbles on these things inflate immensely. They have a bright bright bright green and orange mouth. What are they?

I've got a ton of those things too, trying to get them to kill off palys.  I have yet to get a sting from them, although I know they will kill an acro in about 2 minutes flat.  Do you get stung by frogspawn/torch?

Hmm.  Perhaps the stinger leaves some sort of microbes in the bloodstream that multiply and eventually take over the host's central nervous system, making the person insane and hellbent on propagating yumas.  There are findings to support this theory.

Wow. That's crazy. Looks painful. I can't say I won't get stung but I don't handle my coral all that much. I'm on a huge zoa kick so if anyone has some bright yellow zoas they wanna part with let me know. That's the extent to my coral handling. I like to keep out of my tank as much as possible.

Yea salty cracker pawned some off to me as "moving mushroom" haha. So glad I didn't get the mother and just an offspring, it has stayed small, but does birth children when it moves and only when it moves.

I sold the big mother effer of those things off, now the 'babies' are as big as she was.  I have...maybe 30 of them in the tank now.  I've seen one move up to an inch in a day.  You should have seen them surround a millie colony, craziest thing, they didn't touch it, didn't touch it, then attacked like they knew what they were doing.  I got the millie out, but the encrusted base is just a white mound now.

So this may sound like a silly question and excuse my ignorance but what is the big deal about yumas?? good/bad thing to have in your tank? and why?

yumas are fine.  lol
we used to have a guy on here that was obsessed with them, and he went loopy... so everytime we see or hear yuma... it becomes a big joke.
