Ok so I tore the tlf reactor apart cleaned everything and rinsed and put in some new gfo.
I the harvested both valves for the test project. I have a mag 18 running and a valve on the input and output. By playing with the valves it just lowers the tumble rate. However I am finding that I cannot for the life of me get the gfo to boil evenly. Around the center tubing where the air goes in the gfo sits completely still. Refer to the video. What the hell is going on?

I am noticing the GFO in the center is much "finer" than the stuff that is tumbling on the outer rim as in the video. I bought "ULTRA POWER PHOS" from sealife central. Could the GFO itself be the reason why? As you can also see in the video it's not like I have jammed this thing full either. I started off with a small amount as per my research prior to putting these things online in my tank.
Also it is running solo in the video. I set it up with only one reactor as to get a more accurate reading on just GFO.
