i purchased 5 dispar anthias on saturday, they have been in qt in my frag tank since then (not been affected by the move etc etc)
but i noticed one of them has his eye bulging out of his head. ive read online stress or change or bullying can lead to this, but that it should also return to normal in a couple of weeks,
anyone want to weigh in on this?
what should i do with him?
i want to introduce all the fish at the same time to the tank tmrw, should i wait with the 5 anthias maybe?

They all hang out together in a group, and all have been eating as far as i can see.

thanks!

No idea. But how big is your QT? Are you monitoring ammonia? what kind of aeration does it have? The tank will start cycling in one day or two.

Catch him and poke behind his eye with a needle to release the pressure :)

I've had this happen to one of my lyretails.  Her one eye was easily 5 times its normal size, and you could see a small bubble of gas inside the eye ball. I didn't know what to do and was certain I was going to lose the fish.  However, it kept eating normally, and didn't seem at all limited by the condition.  So I just let it be and continued to feed normally, and go about my usual tank maintenance.  After a week or two (can't recall specifically how long), it was back to normal and the fish is still healthy today.  My advice - just leave it be, and it should recover.  ;)

Sorry, I should add that I wouldn't worry about waiting, probably no harm to transfer over if it is eating and acting normally with the rest of its harem.  If it is getting out competed for food though, probably no harm to leave QT'd either and then add it over once its eye settles down.

Ya a week is not long enough in qt. u should wait at least two week IMO longer to observe them. There is a really good chance they could be carrying ich and u wouldn't necessarily see it. I'd get em into a qt by themselves and treat with cuprammonium just to b safe. Anyway sorry for the rant, can u tell I f***ing hate ich!

Leave all the fish in qt together until this has cleared. It could just be irritated or could be something more serious.  And if it is more serious all the fish may be infected just not showing signs.  Better safe then sorry.

Ok well that anthias didn't make it- along with another one for some random reason
But now I have a 3rd one that has a bump on his head, looks kinda like a pimple. He's had it for a week now, swims fine and eats fine.
Any ideas?
