Can someone please identify this white guy. Having a few show up in my aquarium lately. Good or bad?

Are they legs ? If it was on the rock I’d guess sponge, if not maybe bristle star fish ? Possibly from bought lr

Hmmm they flow/stick out , that seems new to me , I wonder if they are sponges that are letting go ? Are all the ones you see like that ? (Stick out and flow around on the rocks)?

White sponge. I had some that grew tentacles. Can't recall the specific name. Should be able to just pinch and peel it off for the most part.

Shouldn’t hurt nothing no ? Just looks like frozen snot waving at you lol

At about the 1 year mark in mine I had tons of it in my overflow. I did end up removing it, however I feel like i should have done that slowly. I took out two fist fulls.

Sponges are a great filter and I hear some release bad stuff when killed or messed with.

Someone here may be able to speak to that better.

It is a sponge. I have had them for decades with no issues. They are great at filtering the water for small particulate matter and nutrient update.
