I stopped considering crabs after this happened as well!So glad you were able to salvage as much as you did. What an absolutely freaky thing to happen to the silicone. That crab must have been working on it for a while for it to get so shredded I would think. I think I'll stick to fish, I had been thinking of some form of crab to add to my system but I'll pass now. Looking forward to the rebuild thread. I know it will look great.
I think you've hit the nail on the head - the horseshoe crab is most likely the culprit and it makes sense since they are always digging into the sand. Did you have a deep sandbed?

is still just the 90 that you saw everything in when you were here just now it looks like a half done reef instead of a jumbled nightmare but i am mixssing my colourful sticks lolglad to hear that the tank is back up and running..![]()
