Here's my progression of my new nano tank I'm working on lately. After having a 90 gallon for many years I was waiting for the opportunity to start a new tank. Once I moved to school that chance came up and here's my progress..

The tank I chose was a 6 gallon nano cube I bought off of kijiji. It was already setup with rock and sand but I decided to start fresh. I removed all the sand, rock and filter media and cleaned it completely with vinegar and water.

After the clean was done, I did a quick rockscape and began the cycle. I added new live aggregate and rock from my 90 gallon setup.

About two weeks after the cycle began I added some cleanup crew (nassarious snails, turbo snails, cleaner shrimp) I didn't add any crabs as I've had bad luck with them in my 90 gallon. Also the light on the tank is a par38 bulb

After adding the clownfish pair to the tank, I moved the setup to my bedside table which would be the final spot for this aquarium. Two clownish in this size tank is a large bio load but I am currently doing 15% water change once a week as well as running filter floss, purigen and carbon. So far all levels have been perfect.

This is what the tank is looking like as of now. I've stocked it with a number of corals including trumpet, acans, Duncan, gsp, hammer and sun corals. All are thriving and doing incredibly well. The plate coral in the front is just temporary until I can find a home for it

It looks terrific. I'm always glad when someone does a nano tank and posts about it because when I started in saltwater I was told "it couldn't be done" because it was too hard to keep the parameters right. I love it when someone does it and it looks as nice as yours. It is an inspiration to those that want to do one. I may do a nano tank someday. Keep posting so I can see the progress. :)

It isn't hard, just more demanding is all. I am sure that you would not have an issue with one yveterinarian, you are used to the extra care of a tank. Daily water changes are suggested and care has to be taken in matching parameters to avoid shocking more sensitive corals or inverts.

[/IMG] So today I finally took off the unsightly upper rim to give the nano the "rimless" look. Theres still lots of silicone to remove but that's a work in progress.. Also did a quick rerockscape and loving how it looks. The sps is doing well with all the new frags having polyps expansion
