Glad you were finally able to get it apart. Now for the fun of putting it back together! :)
not quite lol find out about frame on sunday still gotta scrub with acetone and get all the dried crud off... then im gonna drill by back pane while it off and easy to carry outside ( inside i'd be deaf real quick and hearing is already on the out ) then i need some ferric oxide to buff the front pane so its 100% scratch free. We all know how unhelpful a kid and the mag float become with seafloor special for substrate. Then i can finally put back together with a low profile c2c overflow and bean animal hidden at back... any luck ill get a new comp so i can make a 3d model but isnt looking too promising lol

all i gotta do is scrub and drill then reassemble. since weather is so cold guess im ear pluggin and doing it in the basement. cant find a frame anywhere that will fit without paying out the wazoo so guess im getting some glass cut to reinforce the top and the inside bottom. my glazing skills will be put to the test thats for sure.

Got the bit for my 3/4" return lines from jeff now just gotta find one for the 1" drains or buy one.... i have a real urge to core through some glass.

I have to drill 65mm holes for my external calflo c2c. Those are some big ass holes. I'm wondering if a 1" bean or 1 1/2" is better. It's only a 200 g. Looking forward to seeing your assembly

it depends on how much your return is cranking im only running 960 gph so 1" will do for me but bean animal website said 1.5" handles 2000+gph silently this is my first bean style tank but everyone seems to love it instead of cutting the back im drilling it to a external box and using an angled peice of glass for low profile overflow to keep water level high will be euro braced top and bottom but will add trim to hide the waterline and 6 inches of sandbed.

I wish my comp didnt die so i could have made a pic on google sketchup

I have cutters for 1.5 inch holes if using schedule 40 bulkheads. Looks like you will be going with 1 inch though. Just throwing it out there. Good luck!

ya was good i put about 1/4" of water in on low speed setting at about half throttle and was quiet enough i did it in my basement no ear plugs it took about 3 -5 min thats it with a dewalt cordless. the battery should be good for the other 3 holes tomorrow pretty much no resistance it just grinds on through

So glad it worked well for you Steve. When I did my first one I practiced on a broken aquarium that I had until I felt safe trying on my good aquarium - but it was a 20 gallon - much thinner glass and I didn't want to wreck it. I clamped wood on either side of the glass to steady it and prevent cracking through vibration.
