I guess, the bulkheads and direction flows are here too, its a really nice looking tank and sump... the sump has 3 chambers with double baffles,

Here is a pic of the back (before I cleaned it lol). Either a full bean with full siphon, trickle and emerg or just a full siphon, trickle and return in the overflow and opposite corner. Lots of design potential here for sure. The bulkheads are 1" and ready to rock.

Ok cool so we could set up a bean system and a return hole. Nice.

Looks like you had a return in the siphon. Guess we could go emerg right side full and trickle in overflow? Leaving return hose where it is

Return is not glued in, it is really up to you. Ideally, you would do a vertical beany type with full siphon on the bottom, then trickle in the middle and emergency on the top hole. I personally would do the bottom hole full siphon, middle hole trickle and a return in the top hole and opposite corner. But I am a rebel like that. ;) I think she is going to use a mag12 return, so it should be perfect for 2 returns and not over power the overflow.

Gate valve the full return with the trickle coming in after the gate if I'm not mistaken? Emerg should be on it's own line. I'll let Heath decide if she wants to be rebel or play it safe. We could always drill another if need be anyways.

Not my normal caliber of drawing, but I am sleepy. This is how I would do it looking at the back of the tank. Crank up the mag12 and return 2 lines hitting both sides of the tank. Red dots are gate valves and arrows showing water flow. Anyone else have input or preference?

Then there is the other method with 3 drains. This may be the better/safer option as she is in an apartment.

I would go with the second setup, with 3 drains. Always a good idea to have emergency line! I only have a ball valve on my full syphon line, so you can save a few bucks by using one instead of two.

Personally I would use option 1 but put a gate valve on the return line to dial it to whatever works best for the tank and won't overpower the overflow. This way you create a nice flow on either side of the tank to help decrease detritus buildup. Have a gate valve if you wish on the lower drain line but not on the top one. If the top one is needed you wouldn't want the flow impeded so that there wouldn't be a tank overflow. Just my $.02 :)
