Question About Changing Ro Filter

Hi everyone,

I have a BRS 75gpd rodi system,
When i first got the system, per the meter on the unit, the water going into the di canister, was around the 2ppm range, Fast forward to now, its reading 10ppm going into the di canister,
So i purchased a new ro filter, and installed it.
Either i screwed something up, or i got a bad filter.

But now its reading in the 30ppm range,

Is there a break in process for new ro filters?
Has anyone else every experienced this.

I think that what you need is the DI raisin not the RO membrane.
Maybe that’s the problem?

Depending on the filters. You can definitely get the occasional bad carbon filter, but the membrane should be able to remove the debris. Do you have a drainline flow control bypass, for flushing the membrane? Are you running a carbon filter after the membrane? If so, you can eliminate that one. It would also be good to continuously check the TDS of the feed. Residential RO systems can usually only eliminate 90% of the incoming TDS. So, if your water has spiked, the membrane may not be able to handle it. That's when a flow control bypass comes in handy.

the system is setup as;
city water to 1 micro settlement filter to 1 micro carbon filter, to RO filter, to DI resin.
TDS sensors on the water coming out of the RO filter, and the DI Resin.

I do have the bypass valve to flush the RO filter,
and I've also setup a valve to bypass the DI resin if the TDS is too high.
