Just a discussion starter,
"There’s no excuse for not having what you want in this hobby; all limitations (excluding financial) are always driven by lack of effort or an understanding of why."

Are you married?
Very good point, once you remove the financial aspect of it, anything is possible and only limited by your finances.
Also to note, the married comment, yes, a spouse can come into play on those limitations. There are financial goals set in place within a relationship that may limit your abilities to get what you want tank wise, but that falls back on the finances part of the original statement. Also they may not agree that a 3000 gallon divers coral reef tank in the living room is the best option. They may be more of a 'voice of reason' in making the best financial decision for your family. Especially noted as I am currently also reading an article about how $1,000,000 really does not go far in retirement.
1 mil is fine if you are accustomed to living off a couple thousand a month And cost of living doesn’t go up too much. Oh yes and only have a 10 gallon tank lol
Also limitations are also governed by other factors. I really want a trigger fish but don’t have the space for a big enough tank.
But I guess that draws back to financial as I can’t afford a bigger house...
Getting a trigger fish is not limited to the size of your tank. If you purchase a small enough one in the beginning and keep it until it is too big for your tank, then have a plan to move the fish to a bigger tank even if that means back to where you bought it and trade for a smaller one again or donating it to someplace that can house the bigger fish. You ultimately had your trigger, raised it and had the enjoyment of watching it grow to adult hood. Is that much different than keeping it until it dies of old age? Again, maybe not the most economical way but still not a limitation.
Just wait until you get a bully that doesn’t play well in the sandbox lolTwo different trains of thought. I fully understand that method but it does not work for me. I hate giving up my animals my family and I have a hard time saying goodbye lol. Whatever fish I purchase will hopefully be for the long run.

All I am saying that it is not a limitation. I never said you would like it, all I'm saying is it isn't a limitation.
