Is anyone using one through their Apex? Wondering which one would work well on the Fusion app on my phone.

I install security cameras for a living, and would like to chime in with this bit of info. For anyone who is using a wifi camera like the above one like Eric to not watch their tank, and to monitor there house...please change the default password and port number from standard http(80). They are the easiest things to log into and can do you more harm than good. Especially if you have setup remote viewing.

Thanks! Is it possible to share the steps if that is not too much? :)

Steps to change password/port number? Every camera would be slightly different. Port 80 is the default internet browser port, so anyone that knows your external IP (which it is not hard to find) can just type it into browser and BAM they are at your camera login screen, some simple guessing or a quick Google will tell them the default login and now they are watching you, know when your home and such.

I don't install wifi cameras. Mostly commercial grade IP cameras, but even them, they find out external IP and most NVR has web based software that sits on port 80. All you need to do once port is changed, instead of typing in "572.727.372.561" in web browser, it would be "572.727.372.561:521" (if port was changed from 80 to 521

Any of these work fine with your Apex. You can not control the camera through Apex though. I use a stationary camera for viewing my tank through Fusion. It is difficult to set up though. I would suggest just using the native app for the camera. That normally works plug n play. To set up your Apex, you need to know how to set up port forwarding and a DNS as well as other headache things.

If anyone is interested, Best Buy is having $100 off on Arlo Pro for 4 set of cameras $799 (reg. $899)

I snatched one today. I couldn't pass the $100 off. You can finance the $600 portion for 3 months with no interest and no fees, or finance the whole thing for 6 months with no interest with $29 fee.

$800, for a webcam?

Finance the balance for 3 months?

No interest = $29 fee?

No thanks.

Finance is an option. You can pay cash if you want to.

3 months equal payments with no interest has no fee.

If you finance it more than 3 months then you pay admin fee.

It is a high end webcam, just like high end anything else such as fish and corals.

This security camera has plenty of features that I am looking for in security cameras. Google it if you are interested.

Just like everything else, each to their own I guess. :)

It is for 4 cameras, just incase it was misread.

I understand, just why not get a whole house security system then, with the tank as a feature.

Ultimately though, unless one wanted to use all four cameras on one tank, then it seems a little odd to go into debt, when there are other more cost effective routes. (Like an Apex Jr with a $50-$75 camera.)

What is a "high end" webcam, like do you sip caviar while viewing it?

So if there is one type of coral I like, I should go into debt to get duplicate coral that I don't need?

I could google it, or I could head over to http://www.surveilzone.com/ and build an equivalent or buy better single system for a fraction of the cost.

"High end" here means higher end price. People pay hundreds of dollars for designer clowns or one small frag of coral all the time. It does not mean that you sip caviar when you are are looking at the fish or coral, does it?
Like I said the no interest no payment/equal payment IS an option. You have the dough up front? Fork it up. For me considering Future Value of money why would I want to pay it all up front if I can pay it off in 3 months with no fee and interest. It is a no brainer.

For me this IS a whole house surveillance since I live in a condo. You may need more if you live in a house.

You could go to your website and build them for sure. Some people don't want to or can't build, and they are looking for out of the box, plug and play cameras.

Nothing is wrong or right whichever way you go. Like I said already, everybody value things differently. Some may end up pay more building from scratch if they take into account the time and energy they spend on researching and building a whole home surveillance system.

Sure does.

You're right, I can't afford not to do it. :D I might wait until tomorrow, boxing day for it to come on sale though.

That is where things get complicated, as I live in a boot.

You could go to your website and build them for sure. Some people don't want to or can't build, and they are looking for out of the box, plug and play cameras.

Surveilzone has tonnes of out of the box, plug and play, wired or non wired, HD or Analog, pan and tilting cameras of every sort and price point.

Nothing is wrong or right whichever way you go. Like I said already, everybody value things differently.

You can say that again.

Some may end up pay more building from scratch if they take into account the time and energy they spend on researching and building a whole home surveillance system.

Happy Holidays.
