I scrape them off the sides and peel them off where I don't want them to grow. Then straight into the garbage

Nah. I don't want to spend any money on this system. The par38 grows what I have in there just fine.

I just glued a sm mat of gsp to the back.

It was about a twoonie sized piece glued with one drop of coral glue. The rest has just grown onto the back
