Bta Bubbling Possible Trick

so the age old question pf how to get your bta to bubble. my bta that i originally got from phil was a very mature nem that split and even once split was still very large. i have noticed over the years that alot of bigger bta's have the same issue and forever have not been able to keep him inflated with nive fat bubbly tips. recently over the past few weeks i have been target feeding my nem twice a week with freshly hatched baby brine and completely stopped feeding clam strips sliced thin. from what i can tell chatting with many other members is that "those people" who have a bta thats always bubbled never feed it anything but the mysis it catches and clownfish poop.

Im coming to the conclusion that small food sources like micro fauna are the ideal source for bubbling to happen which im supplementing with baby brine so if anyone else in the area wants to give it a try and see if they get the same results ill gladly donate you a bottle with about half a million baby brine and some phyto and hufa supplement to keep them alive for you. We need to get this on lock down so all our members have beautiful bta's all the time and not just some the time lol :)

small rubber bands around each tentacle, shhhhhhhh.. its the secret

I found low flow and no skimmer made mine inflate way more than ever before. Feed reef roids. But what i noticed was it was more of the mood it was in. occasionally it would deflate and if the clown was harassing it then it would go stringy

My last nem quit bubbling for years until I started feeding it raw table shrimp. I just figured it was never getting enough food.

My bta is massive and hasn't bubbled since I got it years ago. I never target feed it anymore but it is hosted by my clown pair which I thought could play a pretty big role in why it doesn't bubble. I'm not too fussed anyways cus I actually kind of prefer longer tentacles with smaller bubbles as opposed to short tentacles with thick bubbles. Or maybe that's just jealous me speaking ;) interested in these results tho!

I think those anenomes are just finicky B******s any way you look at it, like women, sometimes they're happy and some times they aren't LOL
this will be interesting to follow and see what kind of results everyone gets :cool::cool:

Interesting theory Steve.
I've never thought about the type of food that would affect the anemone like that.
My BTA hasn't "bubbled" in well over a year. With feeding raw table shrimp or not.
Maybe I'll take you up on that offer and give your baby brine shrimp idea a try.

Mine stopped bubbling after I isolated him to the bottom too but at least he's not moving and destroying everything in his path. Following to see the results.
