So first thing i noticed today while feeding my fish was a weird brown smokiness hovering at the back.of my tank while my return and pumps were off. Couldnt figure out what i was or where it was coming from.
After i got home from work my whole front and bottom panel of glass was covered in brown/green algae, and i had just scrubbed the glass this morning.

sounds stupid but, Not sure what kind of lights I have, I got them from Jeff, they are leds, blues and white.. I started keeping the whites off and just running the blues. they are sitting right on the tank until the canopy is built..

Lights are on for 10 hours. 8 bulb t5.
I have 6h, whenever tried to increase to 8h - got an algae.
From your tank, you have 8*54W=400W light
for 100G would add about 200W.
Also fixing algae problem is a peace of cake: just turn off the light and cover tank with some blanket - in 3-5 days you will see absolutely clear water.

If its a newer system, that is normal growth, it will go away assuming your parameters are in check and it uses all of whatever it is eating. My tank has been running for about a month now, the rock I have in it and the substrate is covered in diatoms and other algaes, including a couple of types of macro and GHA. The diatoms are already subsiding and I haven't touched a thing, and been lighting it with 250 watts of MH 5 hours per day, plus 24 RBs 12 hours a day. Just be patient and ride it out.

Ok thats what i thought, just an algae bloom from moving the tank over. The only thing that alarmed me was the brown dustiness in the tank that i couldnt pinpoint the cause.

Brown dustiness sounds like a diatom bloom to me. I had the same thing.... as other have said, it's part of the new tank "algae cycle." Mine lasted maybe a week or two and now there is no sign of it!
