Feeding Your Corals

Subject line says it all. Do you feed your corals and what do you give them with?

I add polyp labs polyp booster and let it circulate to get them hungry then after about 5 mins I shut off the koralias and add reef roids. I spot feed but mostly let it move around. Once it has settled a bit I turn on my koralias again. I only use half the dose for my tank.

I use polyp booster as well and then I am trying out Cobalts new coral food. I do pretty much the same thing as 100gallon but I don't turn my pumps off.

I strongly disagree I have personally experienced better growth and colour on sps and lps when feeding corals

I use reef roids , Aqua fuel , coral snow cycloplez and gornopowder

Reading articles and research papers have proven feeding is important.

I think whether or not you "need" to feed your corals is really going to depends on what your systems like, and what kinda corals your keeping and wanting to feed.

People can disagree all they want. I have tried many different coral food reef Roid oyster feast Phyto feasta coral frenzy acro power,but never seen any change in my corals. The only supplement I'm adding to my tank now is esv cal/alk mag when needed.

People will always disagree or agree lol.... I used to feed and then I stopped and then I started again and then I stopped again and then I started, and now I basically just do oyster feast and feed my fish.... Not sure really what helped more.... When I was on a testing binge for testing po4 I did notice po4 spike a lot when using the roids.... Not sure why or if it was just me.... Sometimes I swear that feeding helps but maybe that's because I'm just seeing elevated po4 or no3 levels.... How do you like the esv? Is it the two part? I'm using that now and have been for a while.... It's supposed to have a lot of trace elements added too but it's also kinda pricey.... I'm going to start going half and half with the brs additives..... I'm going to test my tank first with the triton test and then do the half and half switch.... See what happens and maybe do the test again in a year to see if any elements have dropped off....

You're right there's no perfect answer in reefing and there's nothing wrong with trying and experimenting news thing. Esv is two parts B-ionic. I have been using it for couple years now. Just in the last year or so my corals demand more of it. I'm currently dosing about 240 ml per day, just to keep my parameter staple. Going Broke pretty soon. I'm planning on adding a calcium reactor

I just feed my fish really heavy.

I used to use fuel. But didn't buy it again after I ran out. Great product though. Some members swear by it. Just ask Scubasteve

I have roids and fauna marine "Ultra Clam" but I can't say I've noticed much difference between when I've been feeding regularly and not feeding at all... However my system is high in Nitrates though low in Phosphates (at least the last time I checked....) and so full of assorted critters that I don't even specifically feed my Dendro colonies anymore.

I use fuel start off with half the recommended dosage I have been using for 4 weeks now I feed it twice a week and notice my corals have liked it very much my zoas for sure baby's are popping

I feed reefroids and Reef pearls

I feed in the morning before work. My lights are still out so it seems like the best time to feed. I don't do it every morning, just when I remember. About 3 to 4 times a week. Does it help? Well I can't say for sure but it doesn't hurt. And 30 bucks every few months isn't going to break the bank so I don't really care. I've tried Fuel, and all it did was make my glass really green, really fast so I stopped.

I target feed certain corals once or twice a week. Like my Anemone's and a few other softies.

yes eric i swear by aqua vitro fuel it is great stuff i take a cup of tank water mix in a capful of fuel and half a syringe of polyp booster drop in some pellets for the fish and some mysis then dump in water i do this twice a week in my 90 gal and everything is highlighter bright and great polyp extension day and night

I use fuel as well and that's it aside from what the tank gets with feeding fish. Everything seems happy.

I brew my own fresh phytoplankton and feed 1/4 cup 2 times a week.. I have non photosynthetic gorgonians a large tombstone sponge and large clams never fed anything else well maybe fish poop also
