PH probe easy to check:
1. Find 3 solutions 4PH,7PH,10PH
2. Calibrate for 4PH and 10PH
3. Verify on 7PH or retest on 4PH again.
If it pass this test - it is definitely working fine.
Moreover 7PH is optional - just to suspicious persons :)

If that's canadian dollars I would do it, ph probes are not expensive, and the apex is reliable.

I scored an apex lite yesterday. New in the box for 429 +tax. Coral reef shop had it at old pricing. The ph probe is due in any day so I think it was a score cost wise. Getting it set up today.

Already figuring it out lol. It's goofy to set up but now it's running it's awesome. My tank was actually 83 degrees! I set heaters on at 78 and off at 79 and have the return and skimmer hooked up to shut off when I hit feed mode. Ph probe will be in any day.

I couldn't believe the price tag. Easy decision!

They most likely had at old pricing because the product is old. Apex lites were discontinued Jan 1 of last year. Hope the warranty is still valid as technically it's already over a year old and discontinued.

Definitely got a cheap price on that lite. The only real difference between the 2 is that with lite you do not get the variable ports, therefore can not control DIY lighting or DC style pumps. You also can not control Vortec pumps. As you know you need to purchase the extra probe as well. You can purchase the modules to control those missing pieces, but that would put you way over the price of a new full Apex. I am glad that you did not get a Jr though.

A full apex would run me 650-700 no matter what. I'm in this for 489 tax in. The probe is max 100. I don't use vortecs or dim able lighting or dc pumps right now so I took the cheaper price vs the bells and whistles I won't need right now. Just have to hook my GFO reactor in and get that ph probe. It's so nice to turn off for feed and not have to unplug stuff or shut off a powerbar.

+1 It doesn't matter which APEX model, all versions require the WXM module to control Ecotech products.

..and you do have the option of getting a variable speed module should so later decide you need it. I think a new VDM runs about 100 bucks http://www.marinedepot.com/Neptune_...ories-Neptune_Systems-NS3339-FITEMOAC-vi.html

I think you're still ahead, and would suspect since you purchased it new from an authorized retailer, you will have a full warranty

I assume CRS would hold there end if something happened, but it's the fact Neptune systems discontinued.

Same would apply if you purchased a brand new in packaging skimmer like a vertex in 280.
