Hey everyone I was this of starting to use Kalkwasser to raise my calcium and ph a bit I’ve read about people putting in the auto top off but I can’t see it being very consistent was thinking of adding a dosing pump just wonder what everyone has done thanks

best to dose it at night to get the best ph benefit, determine how much evaporation you have in 24hrs and dose that much at night slowly in a high flow area and turn your top off off

Your right about using it in the ato. That’s just asking for a crash. Use a dosing pump and like was said above dose up to your evaporation amount if you don’t drive your alk up to high. Start out slow

what size is your tank?

It’s a 90 gallon with 20 gallon sump what about a co2 scubber

A co2 scrubber will work but gets really expensive really fast, outside air to your skimmer would be almost as effective.
What is your pH?

I just tested it it’s 7.8

Bet that will go to 8.0 just by adding fresh outside air on your skimmer intake, worked for me

you could try it temporary out a window and see what kind of result you get, it will give you an idea of what to expect with a co2 scrubber
