Guppy Bloody Gills

Why did this guppy just die? The gills seem to have bleed out. He stoped swimming and trying to breathe then died.

Did you detoxify the water with a water conditioner?

As @Pistol states it could be toxic water (high levels of chlorine for example), unmatured tank (FW needs a biological mass just like SW to allow a complete nitrogen cycle), inherent disease, lack of oxygen due to poor flow (poor surface tension break up or poor aeration)
How old is your FW tank ?

I bread the guppy in my larger breeding tank i took the water from that tank and put it along with 7 guppys into a smaller tank kinda like a beta tank with a filter.

the water doesnt contain the bacteria that converts ammonia its the gravel / filter pad. Next time take the filter foam from your other filter and use it in the new tank it will help.

Being that that small bowl is meant for one fish. My first guess would be ammonia poisioning. They tend to get red streaks in their gills and fins when this happens. They also tend to sit at the top and gasp for air because of the poisioned water.

I tested the water seems good. I also added the gravel from tge larger tank the black stuff is not gravel i forget what its called, but its supposed to be good for the fish. All the others seem fine so all i can do is just wait and see if it happens again and something is wrong.

PH is fine but what about Ammonia Nitrite or nitrate. They could also be suffocating because the bowl isn't getting enough oxygen.

Look at it this way. Think of having 5 cats live in a closet and they eat and poop there all day long. after a couple days it would be quite a potent room. You wouldn't keep 5 cats in a closet with one litter box so why keep 5 fish in something that is meant for 1.
